EMS professionals with Rural / Metro of Tacoma, Washington overwhelmingly ratified their first contract agreement today.

The agreement includes significant wage increases across each pay step as well as significant improvements to members’ rights in the workplace.   The agreement establishes a strong grievance and arbitration process, increases bereavement benefits and establishes double-time for holdovers.

“Everybody involved worked very hard to negotiate a contract that improves the life of every EMS professional with Rural / Metro Tacoma,” said Chief Negotiator Chris Cloen.  “National Representative Greg Behan and the local negotiating committee worked diligently to ensure their voices were heard at the bargaining table.”
