Local 247 Members Support SEIU Brothers and Sisters on Picket Line
Members of IAEP Local 247, EMS professionals with Paramedics Plus of Pinellas County, Florida, recently joined their brothers and sisters from the SEIU Florida Public Services Union on the picket line.
The members of Local 247 joined the protest organized by members of the FPSU, employees of the Pinellas County School system, in response to Representative Jim Frishe’s recent support of the budget cut decision(s) that also lead to cuts in the school system’s budget. These men and women are concerned that these cuts will have an overall negative effect on the quality of education provided and the school system as a whole.
“We are proud to support these men and women as they face continued cuts from the school’s budget,” said Local 247 Secretary / Treasurer Michael Keesler. “It’s important we stand together and send one clear message during these difficult times.”
